Training

If you're eligible for home health benefits through your insurance, RubyWell can connect your family caregiver with access to home health aide certification training. So they’ll be prepared to provide a professional level of care for you.

Payment

RubyWell partners with local home health agencies, who may then hire your family member as a certified home health aide. Your insurance benefits may cover up to 35 paid hours of care per week, depending on your care needs.

Family caregiver training and payment may improve your aging experience

Research shows that when family caregivers participated in a caregiver health education program, the aging spouses they cared for had lower overall health care costs.

Another study shows that paid family caregivers reduce emergency room visits by 28% and reduce the likelihood of hospital stays by 32%.

RubyWell helps families afford to provide the quality care their older loved ones deserve.

Care Recipient FAQs

My spouse is caring for me. Can they get paid to provide my care?

For eligible families, RubyWell can help any family caregiver get paid, including a spouse or even a friend. The caregiver must be at least 18 years old, legally allowed to work in the U.S., and pass background and drug tests to be eligible for the RubyWell program.

What is required of my caregiver if they join RubyWell?

If they qualify for our program, we'll connect them with access to a combination of online and in-person training. When they complete the training and pass a test to become a Medicare-certified Home Health Aide or CNA (depending on your state's requirements) one of our home health agency partners may hire them to provide care.

Do I have to spend down most of my assets to qualify for RubyWell?

RubyWell is not a needs-based program, like Medicaid. So we don't require you to meet any income or asset limits. If you and your caregiver qualify for RubyWell, you can hold on to what you've got.

My family caregiver is with me 24/7. Will they be paid for all of those hours?

The home health insurance benefit may cover up to 35 paid hours of care per week, depending on your care needs. That doesn't mean that your family caregiver won't be able to provide all of the same care they already provide for you. It just means they'll only be paid for certain necessary home health tasks that will be outlined in your personalized care plan.
